Melina entered the ASDFC Family as a shy and quiet 4th grader. With the guidance of her instructors, she has increased her level of self-confidence, self-esteem, and has become more outgoing, making many friends and excelling in the classroom. She is a High School Honor Student, and is on the winning 2009 team at the Rutgers University Climate & Environmental Change Summit. Melina participated in the National Science League Competitions, and is the 2008 Recipient of the Bergen County “Caring Award.”
Upon joining Master Bargiacchi’s Leadership Team, many valuable lessons and training strategies aided Melina’s performance both in and outside the world of Martial Arts. Such teachings include proper Conflict Resolution, Bully Prevention, Cyberspace Safety, as well as the priceless skills of Time Management, the power of the Mind, and Self-Discipline/Control.
